We had to bury Hoppy today. He was a red chook and got his name because he had a crooked leg. A legacy of a cruel keeper before we rescued him. We have had him in with our other 9 chooks for about a year now. All of a sudden he went downhill and the others started attacking him. One day he was really bad so he has been in a pen on his own for about a month. Still laying an egg a day but not able to move much. Then this morning he decided it was all too much and went to sleep. Rest in peace Hoppy

Sorry to hear of your loss Bev. We had something similiar happen last year. I was surprised how we had all become attached to a chook but they do have a way of becoming part of the family. My deepest sympathies. RIP Hoppy
