I think everyone who ever had a pet budgie at one stage had one called Bluey, we had a very special one. He came to us about six years ago, I bought him as a breeder from a place called Star Aviaries and he certainly did exactly what I bought him for, I estimate that Bluey fathered over 100 chicks over the years and was without a doubt the boss of the aviary.
About a year ago bluey started to show singes of slowing down and was starting to get bullied by some of the young guns so we took him inside made him comfortable and let him spend the rest of his days in peace.
Bluey died last night so we buried him up the yard with a few of our other special pets, shed a little tear and said goodbye to treasured friend, fly free my little Bluey we will miss you.
