I know it's hard not to beat yourself up over a thing like this Jane, but chin up girl, sending you lot's of hugs from a wet old Sydney, lots of love.

Oh Jane that is terrible. could it just be the really cold weather and all the rain we have been having too??? I know that even up here I had to wear 3 jumpers to work the other day and didn't take any off at all. The next day I wore two jumpers all day. Saturday I was totally rugged up to go shopping with 2 jumpers and a jacket and scarf. So maybe it was the cold???

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. All the survivors are missing the odd feather and look beat up, they get scared in the dark and fly around blindly, I usually hear them and turn a spotlight on so they can find their perches, I even got a new light and switch so I can turn it on faster if I hear them crashing around in the dark. That's why I feel so bad, I don't know why I didn't hear anything. But since it's sooooo cold and the survivors are worse for wear I've got some big tarps and wrapped the aviary up to keep them snug while they recover.

Thank-you sooo much everyone I've kept the aviary wrapped up because now with terrible timing we've managed to have rain which is not great for neophemas at all. The good news is so far the rest are okay and look much better than on the weekend, let's hope the wet doesn't get them.

At least it's not too windy with the rain like it was last week - that was a killer. Not too much of a breeze around now though, so hopefully they'll be okay.

Oh dear, sorry to hear about your loss. I know how it feels to lose so many at once.
