I picked up my Alexandrine parrot from the vet yesterday and buried her in the garden. She passed away mid December but the ground here has been rock hard - they have been holding her for me. I picked out a pretty pink crepe myrtle to put over her grave. I feel much better with her back home again. I took her from a friend about 2 years ago who had her in a small cage. She saw my empty aviary and said "Gee, Joycie would love to move in here". She was over 30 years old then. She was quite nervous at first but before long her sweet nature showed itself - allowing 2 young lorikeets to share her home for a while. She never let me touch her and I didn't try to get too close but we had an understanding. She is very sadly missed. Rest in peace my sweet girl. 
She looked beautiful and yes what a nice home she had.
