Hello All We had a clumsy tradesman over yesterday who knocked Our Cockatiel's cage over and sat and watched our baby fly out the door. I am so devistated. We searched for him for hours yesterday He flew out just before 5pm yesterday. St Albans area (VIC) He's white with a tiny bit of grey mid way down his back. Very tame and likely to land on someones head. I've tried attaching a pic. Hope it works If anyone has any info at all please please please let me know.

It might be worth putting an advert on petlink as well,as that site is viewed by a lot of people on a daily basis. www.petlink.com.au

try to put up flyers also in the corner shops near you and maybe an ad in the paper. Unfortuneately I have lost many tiels and never got any back. My galah on the other hand I got back every time she was lost and I believe because she was a bigger bird most people do not have access to a cage big enough for her......but smaller birds their cages can be cheap to buy. I got my alexandrine back, but I am sure that was just pure luck as I walked the streets calling him and knocking on peoples doors to let them know I had lost him and put flyers out and it was just lucky these people read the flyer in the corner shop and realised I was only 3 houses down from them. Good luck.

I'm always loosing birds too. On Friday I was taking the breeding boxes out of my budgie suspended cage, the birds were all flying about so I didn't notice that my nice multi coloured male had sneeked out. A few hours later I was gardening and heard a budgie, and sure enough he was in the gum tree getting monstered by about 6 noisy miners. He flew onto the front door of the house across the road so I caught him with a net.
A couple of months ago one of my Indian Ringnecks dug out under the cage. That night and the next day he hung around the cage but I couldn't get close enough to catch him. That night I noticed him going up under the cover I pull down at night so I caught him too.
