I'm so sad... Cory, my beautiful Corella, flew off my shoulder on Saturday afternoon... I've had him outside on my shoulder countless of times, but Saturday he took off. I'll be putting ads in the paper tomorrow, call vets and petshops and continue looking. His cage is out in the yard with food and water, but he wouldn't know the house from a above. I would like to offer a reward for his return... What is a reasonable amount? Lene

I'm in Redbank Plains. He took off to the east then turned and flew west. He was up sooo high, and looked so gorgeous. I just hope he will be OK, even if he doesn't come home. Lene

I know how you feel Lene. I lost my galah many times and even lost her 1 week and was lucky enough to get her back. I never actually offered a reward, but on two occassions I gave the people flowers and scratchies and when I got Takoda back I gave them a bottle of wine and 6 pack of crown lager. On all occassions the people were just happy to give the bird back to me...........but they were smiling because i had actually acknowledged them too. I hope you get him back Lene. fingers crossed for you.
I also lost one of my sulfer crested 'toos by flying away..........and never got him back.

I have signed up with the RSPCA, and put in the details on the web... I could also upload a photo, and print out a poster... They will do an extensive search over 10 days for $10. I offered $50 as a reward. I don't know if that's enough.. I can't put a price on Cory's head.. As soon as my printer is installed I will print out as many posters as I can, before I go to bed, and then deliver them to houses and shops tomorrow. I got a new computer a few months ago with a free photo printer... The computer has Windows Vista operating system, and the installation CD didn't support Vista...... Does NOT improve my overall mood....

Last night RSPCA called me about a corella a man had seen in Redbank Plains... They put me through to the man, and I went and had a look at the bird feeding in the paddock... It was Cory! He's home! He's a bit tired, very hungry and thirsty. He hasn't played today, and been quite 'sookie'. I called in sick at work today, just had to be here...

Lene I'm so happy you found Cory It's such a big world to find 1 corella in, what good luck. Or hard work on your part making sure everyone knew he was missing, your efforts paid off!

So happy to hear that Lene! I have no idea what I'd do if I lost Jedi - in fact I'm looking into getting her a flight harness. She's such a big placid sook that I think I'd not have too much trouble getting it on her. Two of my budgies when I was younger escaped - it's such a horrible feeling, and I'm glad things turned out well for you.

wooh that was close LOL I lost Bo once over the other side of town and she couldn't fly. She walked across the road and they didn't have a cage for her so they took her to a friends place who had a galah and a big cage.............I put an ad in the paper and was very lucky they were honest people. I am so glad you got him back Lene.
