Flew away this arvo in Pooraka Adelaide Im kicking myself, i knew i had to clip his wing but he always puts up such a fight. Argh! You think I would have learned after my sun conure flew away (got that one back tho, by getting the fire brigade to hose her out of the tree, a story for another day) But ive got no idea which direction my galah went!! Well he is very distinctive cos most of his head is bald and he only has his crest left (courtesy of his mate) So hopefully he'll land in one of your back yards Guess ill start ringing the local vets

put an ad in the local paper and on the radio and up at the shops etc etc. I did all of that and got Takoda back 2 days later and managed to Bo (galah) back each time...........the longest she was missing was 7 or 8 days but still got her back.

Hopefully it's mate will call it back ( which it should ),keep an empty cage next to the mate's cage with seed on the floor so it can see it and water...good luck and hope you get him back.

Hey Thanx for all your help! I rang everywhere i could think of and printed up flyers, but as my husband was leaving for work one morning he heard Jolly yelling. So i quickly got dressed and was walking around the street at 7am calling for him. I found him only about 1 street away up a tree. After hours of trying to coax him down with seed, I got his mate in a cage and brought her out to the tree, and finally he started to come down...but he got to one part where there was nothing for him to hold onto...so that took him a while to get the confidence to come down! Finally got to a position where i could reach him and grabbed him a towel and ran home only to realise I locked my keys out:O so I had to get my neighbours ladder to get over the fence and i luckily hadn't locked the backdoor... phew. I feel so lucky to have got him back...especially since i my sun conre flew away a couple of months before...that was a loooong day...had to get the fire brigade to hose her out of the tree because she was up sooo high..they soaked the poor bird and I thought they'd killed her when she fell out, i was in tears as we raced her off to the vet. Aparently the fire brigade do it all the time lol Thanx again guys
