Hello can you send me your pic and I will try to download it for you. We would need to see the pic before saying anything. Takoda (my boy) has always had a sort of ring around his neck, but it isn't the big colourful black/pink ring he will get hopefully in the next 12 months. Takoda is 15 months old now.
my email address is birdielover60@yahoo.com.au so send the pics there if you can.

Some of my boys and girls carry that dark ring around the front of their necks. It all depends on the parents. if the parents have it the babies will.

Actually I think you can just see it (the ring that is) in the pic of Takoda (the third bird in the signature).

Tracey all babies from Takado's nest carry that dark ring. His Mum has it and when I brought her a few years ago she was sold to me as a cock bird and was told he was starting to get his ring. She was the first alex I owned so I took their word it was a cock bird. After a few weeks and watching her with a male ringneck I had her sexed and found out she was a hen.

Paulie has just started to get his ring, and he is coming upto twelve months. As tracey and pauline said it all depends on the parents whether they have there rings early or not. Here are some latest pics of him

Judy how lucky are you that Paulie is getting his ring so early. I can't wait for Takoda to get his. He is starting to molt now.....so hopefully............ Here are the pics ;D Boof and friend

Kathryn how old is Boof? It he is only a baby he should not be regurgitating that might happen when the bird is older like Judy and Tracey has said with their older birds. The ring is a nice dark one and lots of baby do have that. Is Boof a DNA sexed male? He does look like a male to me.

My alex baby has a slight dark ring and its only 7 weeks old, could still be feathers coming but it isnt too visable. Thats a big ring for 3 months? Maybe it is maturing quickly cos of its surroundings? sure its 3 months?

If you do a search on some of my posts and pics (have a look in the pic section of about 14 months ago) you will see pics of Takoda and he has always had that darkish ring around the neck. Apparently some birds including females can have this...........Paulines birds from a particular paretage usually do have this. The ring the get as an adult is different to this.
