That's ok Bill, I forgive you. Just beware of people like polly, she might make you hand her over! We are weak when it comes to feathered friends.... and none of us would change it for the world

Hey "she followed me home honestly".............LOL..............I am going to try that one on my hubby. I would like to buy a male Eclectus, already have the female, and maybe I could surprise him, with "he really followed me home, honest". LOL I think he would check the bank balance first. LOL

Yes Bill, my birthday is in a few weeks and I am contemplating it (asking for him to be a birthday present, xmas present, and mothers day present for the next year ;D). Skye was my birthday present last year, but I have to admit I had been saving money and had bought a cage and toys in preparation for the baby bird I had ordered originally (an Alex) but the eggs were twice infertile, so I contacted the other breeder again, and my hubby said "get the ekkie, I know you really wanted her anyway, and you have saved money for the other bird, so I went and got her". We will see ;D

Oh drats, my comoflague was not good enough, or was it the same old stories heh ;D Well I can't really remember your name, but I did join here through someones (probably yours) signature that was advertising some Aussie forum (possibly a rescue, not sure). So thanks for that anyway. I think I will enjoy just being able to share stories etc with Aussies on home soil with similar times and actually know where the towns/cities are (or at least I hope I will know where they are). That reminds me of a sticky sign I saw on the back of a car one day - it said "where the hell is Turkey Beach", i smiled and thought to myself - I know where that one is (it is where my hubbies parents live). ;D

Oh sue i thought I would just add, I have just taught skye to shake hands (or a finger anyway. LOL). I am now working on waving with her left wing and she is just starting to lift it for me. It is happening a lot quicker than I thought, because she does not like to be "man handled" i thought it would take weeks to even attempt lifting her wing. (LOL). I am making great progress with both my dogs, especially the Staffy and am hoping to put her through her sweepstakes next weekend (that is the staffy, and I still have 10 days to perfect her). My border is getting ready for open and I am hoping he will be ready for the double trial the following weekend, along with Summa (staffy) for her first novice trial on the same weekend. I never thought I would get to trial Summa, but the clicker (plus some other ideas from a dog trainer up here called Ross Allan - I read his books) she has improved no end.

Oh wow Tracey very clever Skye!!! yeah I lurk there now, did a lot with Bells in Feb then she got very very sick, started again in March & she got sicker, then got out of the habit. I used to post a lot at the begining of the year. I found Bells target stick the other day & wasnt thinking & was holding it in 1 hand & she was on top of her cage, she flew over and grabbed the target then looked for the treat. I was amazed, I thought she would have forgotten for sure. sue

That is great. I do not get to train Skye every day, but I do try most days. At the moment i am trying to train both my dogs 2 times a day in preparation for sweepstake and double trial in next 2 and 3 weekends.
