no way can I tell a lie and confess to wanting more birds its just not true.
I AM going to get more birds, more aviaries and more of everything needed to go with them. just have not told she who must be obeyed yet, can anyone help me with a new way to break the news to her gently? ;D

Give me her number and I will just talk to her. lol and tell her all the positives about them......like they can help to keep you out in the yard and out from under her feet, etc etc and then giving her some piece and quiet ;D Kinda like a man having a shed to hide in. lol

you could try the "It followed me home" excuse

or

You could explain that you need to build/buy more aviaries for the welfare of the birds "cramped" living quarters, then once the aviaries are built, pop in a few "trial" birds to see how your handyman work holds up . After all, you don't want your original "favourite" birds excaping now do you?

or

You could try and pull the wool over her eyes and say " I don't know how it happened hun, honest. I only had tiels/Eckies and this African grey just "appeared". I think it is a "throw back"

once you have the go ahead to go bird shopping then bring home whatever you like, just say " these were for sale too, I got a great deal"

Or say "there was a strange man in our street yesterday and when i came home there were more avairies and birds in our backyard?" or "they were going to be killed if i didnt take them!!!" lol. Or kinda like what jane said "it was a 2 for one deal on all birds"

Or you could try the "If I didn't take them, they were going to put them down". That one worked on me once for a pup. He told me the pup was going to be put down. When I asked the girl (who I worked with) why she would do such a thing, she said she would never do that and didn't say that! He got the pup, I gave him the boot a few years later, and I ended up with HIS dog as he changed his mind and didn't want her any more.

lol I don't need to use any of these excuses, B/F is addicted to reptiles so he just says "if you want it, get it" lol. That way, he can get what he is after then.

Hmmm...he is looking at getting a few more snakes to his collection soon. I may need to get another bird or 2 to keep up with the "Shanes's" lol

I admit i used the threat excuse on my dad to get matches...i told him i was going to get a dog and kept pretending i was until we settled with me gatting a bird...hehe I got what i wanted in the first place while he thought he made a good deal LOL!!!
