Ok so I havent before had her willingly step up onto my hand. I could put her on there and give her treats but never step up herself onto the back of my hand. Every morning now she waits at the door of the cage for me to open it and she climbs out onto the top. So i put my hand out and held a treat on the other side of my hand so the only way for her to get it was to step up. SHE DID IT!! She did it about 6 times this morning! With a treat of course but I could even move around with her on my hand without me physically having to put her on it before. YAY!! I have said step up every time she did it and rewarded her with a sunflower kernal and a "good girl". I call that progress. Aviary bird? I think not LOL.

I was so excited I woke my brother up to show him...he wasnt as impressed as i was cos he was up earlier than he would have liked lol. But She did it from different places, she did it from the top of her cage, my bed, the playstand and the kitchen bench (I was getting their fruit ready).
But also when i have her on my bed i can tap my fingers on the bed and she'll run over for a scratch, she's so cute! And she snuggles into my clothes, even if i move back she'll move closer lol. I'm so glad I got her, she's so sweet...she nibbles my clothes to get me to keep scratching her.

you have done so well with her Courtney. She probably was handraised but not handled since ...... so you have done a great job with her.

She must have been...I'm not sure why you would sell a bird as not handraised when clearly...she's way to calm and tame to have not been handled. Beetle ducking from predator In the hair photo Matches wants in

oh they sold her as unhandraised??? Well then I would say she wasn't. You are a very lucky girl then as she has tamed down wonderfully.......I would also say you have done a wonderful job too.

I would say you have a lovely bird there as they would have said handraised if she was.......more money and more desirable.

Haha the funny thing is that Beetle is so much easier to handle than matches lol, Matches is way too comfortable and not at all lacking confidence so keeping her out of mischief while im training Beetle is a struggle...I swear she fly's to place I specifically tell her not to go while I'm right in the middle of something LOL. She's too smart for her own good. Oh well, at least she can fly away from beetle when she's in a mood lol.
I figured with Beetle I could start fresh and only teach her behaviours I want since she doesnt know how to act around people. I really think i hit gold with Beetle, she's just so sweet and good. I still have a bit before she reaches maturity so maybe she'll get nippy then? I dunno. I have heard alot of people have really young nippy ones too, and Beetle's around 7 months old.

Well Trouble is going through a bit of a nippy phase right now, but to be honest I think that's more grumpiness over his moult than anything. Jedi went through a nippy phase when I first got her, but that was because she was used to having the cage door open all day, and biting to get attention. I think generally the 'nippy' phase people talk about with them is when they mature, so around two years? Don't quote me on that though. And Beetle sounds absolutely lovely - green cheeks are great birds aren't they? Trouble lately has decided he wants to start getting into mischief and living up to his name even more. He used to be happy just sitting on my shoulder in my hair, but now he has to run all over me, jump on the desk and climb all over everything. Of course, the first thing he tries to do is pull my mouse to pieces, haha.

Yeah with Trouble a lot of the nippiness at the moment is 'affectionate' he just gets too into preening me or finding bits of my clothes and hair to mouth at. Then he finds skin and om nom nom it's tasty! But then he goes back into his cage, which results in a sulk.
