He is a very handsome boy Is there any discharge? doesn't look like it but just checking, is there feather loss there? I'm going to have to look at my budgies in the morning and see how many feathers they have there I think Big"S" is probably on the right track with some sort of irritant.

No real discharge that i can see ... and dont think there is any feather loss ... i never gave allergies a thought ..
though i cant remember what i did around the birdie yesterday ... i'm still like 90% sure it wasnt like that yesterday ... as i noticed it straight way today ....
i have washed his eyes a couple of times today ...and he is still jumping around ... eating and drinking ....
if it doesnt look any better by monday i'll take him to the vet ... as i'm somewhat away from home this weekend ...
Though if it looks bad in the morning then of course i'll try and get him to the vet asap ...

If it has been windy it can irritate his eyes - when we get dust in our eyes we can rub it out with our fingers, birds on the other hand can only stratch with their claws or rub their heads on their perch, wire etc.

He isnt doing to badly ... his eyes arent red anymore ... still a bit dry around them tho ... and he is still jumping around eating / drinking etc ... I've been putting him out in the sun alot ... so hopefully that is helping ... still may have to just check in with a vet tho ... as he isnt mine He is pretty and is very cute when he is playing Thanks everyone for the tips etc .... i'm gonna take a guess and say it was some dust etc flying around the bird room from the black cockatoo flapping his wings and stuff ... i have since moved the budgie out into our living area

Its been windy in Sydney lately, it could have been dust or pollan from a plant or from the leaves of a plant. Another thought, have any of your neighbours been spraying anything that could have blown in? Glad that he's doing better now.

Gee I missed this post (and many others too) ...... my first thought also was maybe an allergy ........ I myself had big puffy eyes many years ago from something my parents were growing on their farm and it was a windy day and my eyes swelled up and were so itchy........I looked like a bullterrier for hours. lol
