Got these at the Ipswich Bird Show yesterday. The male red rump died this morning which is really annoying. There's no health standard and this puts the birds on show for the Bird Show in jeapordy as well.

Hi.
So sorry to hear whats happened. I was at the show/sale and enjoyed the day. If your interested in replacing the 'male' red rump then you can have one I have here ...... (Redcliffe area) ....... looks the same colour etc. Maybe you could send a PM.
My first post so please bear with any boo boo's

Thank you Irenea, that's a beautiful thing to offer to do. I'll decline as I now have 3 males & 3 females. The extra male is only 6 months old that was why I didn't get him a mate of his own. Welcome to Aussie Birds!

They are pretty budgies aren't they. Shame about the red rump. Like vankahi said, I would also be contacting the breeder as 1 day is waaaaayyyy to short for a bird that has just been sold.

Aahh...that must be dissappointing about the red-rump It drowns all the excitemnet of bringing home new birdies hey! Are the others ok?? Did he show any signs?? Do you know what he possibly died from?

Wish I did Kat. He did look lethargic at the show and all day Sunday but I put it down to being dragged along to a show and having heaps of people in his face. I thought Spark would perk him up - did the others. The hen is the noisiest red rump hen I've ever had, so she's definately happy. His body was nice and thick, he didn't have any caked poop, no discharge from beak or nares.
