Howdy guys,
I'm new to bird keeping, I have two masked lovebirds I inherited that live outside, their called Enious and Jack after the two cowboys in brokeback mountain. My auntie got them for breeding but got sick and gave them to me. Not even an egg so the name suits! They look real cute together.
I am looking at getting a hand raised rainbow lorrie. I am actually going to look at him after I post this.
Any hints for a newbie?

Welcome beak! I have aa copule of Rainbows, one of them is tame. They are very funny little birds, so playful and such. I feed mine wet/dry lorri mix and plenty of fruit and veg....they don't really eat their vegies though lol. Yes they are messy, very squirty infact! lol But their funny antics make up for it.

Hey beak...... welcome.
Be warned about lorikeets, they are ADDICTIVE !!!!!!! I started with one some time back and I am to scared to count them all now. It all started with one cute little fella, now I'm hand raising 2nd generation, of 6 different species.
Good luck with your new hobby and don't be affraid to ask questions, even if you think it may be silly ............ we all had to learn somewhere.

Hi and welcome Beak. Lorikeets are great lil birds. You'll have heaps of fun just watching all the antics ;D They LOVE grevillea, bottlebrush, eucalyptus, hakea, protea and wattle blossoms, just make sure you don't pick any from beside busy roads or that have been sprayed with anything.
