I love Kaks, especially their little machine gun type 'laugh'. Even non handraised ones become reasonably tame pretty quickly. Only problem is their not a really cuddly bird but they sure are little monkeys!

I bought my first pair of Kaks at the Castle Hill markets yesterday, cinnamon female and green male. I don't know much about them except that I have seen them in New Zealand. They are 2 years old.

Congrats on the Kaks Laraine. As I am sure you know by now they are real charactors. The trick with Kaks is to give them plenty of greens along with the usual feeds. They devour anything green, even grass. They often lay between 5 and 12 eggs, make sure any box you give them is large enough to accomodate a huge nest full. (mine lay on average 9 eggs per clutch)

They really love their baths too. Don't forget the chillies.

I often give my birds winter grass and thistles which they love. I've heard you can give birds chillies but haven't been game enough to give them but have them growing. This morning they were eating little pieces of carrot which I was happy about.
Are they friendly with other birds, haven't decided where to put them yet?
