Thanks i still have to get some more toys for the cage.Another question i was looking in the pet shop today and they had toys that you put a peanut in and the bird has to try and get it out. Are these any good for birds. Julie said i have to get toys that are strong plastic and rubber cause he can break thin things easy.Is the cage alright to be next too the tank.

Hi Tara, Your cage is the right size for your new bird. I would move it from near the fish tank. Your bird will jump down onto it and might chew on the cords.

sounds like the toy is a bird kong, they are the best toy ever invented my birds get hours of fun with these, I stuff mine with dried fruit and nuts or corrot and celery sticks even wholemeal bread etc they are terrific every bird should have one, they stuff they are mad out of seems to be unchewable as my birds have had mine for 12 months and not made a mark on it.

It's a lovelly cage Tara..Don't want to scare you but be careful of toys with chains..I bought a large one with wooden fruit on it for my Alexander when he was a baby, I went out for 2 hours when I returned home he had it half round his neck and pinned to the side of the cage..He spent a week at the vets $300 vet bill and a few months before he could bend his neck properly..I have a few chain toys but they are only allowed to play with them when I'm home and with them...

Thanks for the warning jill. With my bird i will not be leaving him unsupervised around the tank. I'm not going to leave him unsupervised anywhere. There just like 2 year old children get into everything when your not looking. The lids are always on the fish tank so my bird can't hop into it.
