Hi I'm just wondering what tree or plant this is and if it is safe to offer to my birds. I think it's the same tree as in the picture of AB forum's dafault skin. Thanks...

It's a Wattle isn't it? Aussie natives are perfectly safe for birds. Just remember any plant with white milky sap most likely is poisonous. If I can find which wattle I'll report back it'll be Acacia something or other Maybe: www.anbg.gov.au/acacia/species/A-podalyriifolia.html

It's a wattle and is perfectly safe - possibly Cootamundra Wattle. Your birds will love it. Any wattle is safe, as is any grevillea, eucalypt, banksia and bottle brush.
cheers,
Mike

Around here we just call them Blue Wattle.
My lorikeets love them. The only down side is if someone suffers from hayfever. Lucky it's not me ! lol

Yes it is a wattle but not a cootamundra wattle as they have fern like (bipinnate) leaves. Not sure which one it is though.

It is all out in flower here at the moment, and the wild birds love it.
