Elegants are such pretty birds, have they bred at all for you. I bought a pair a few months ago and am wondering if they will breed.

Haven't had them very long. One male is getting a little bossy.

My female Elegant is behaving strangley. She flies at the wire and crashes down to the floor. On the weekend I was opening the aviary door and she flew straight at it. I think I'll bring them in for a while. I have a smaller aviary which I will put them in.

I moved my Elegants into a smaller aviary this morning. The hen doesn't fly very well. Last night when I was checking them after work I heard a bang. The female had crashed into the corner of the aviary AGAIN. I hope she does better in there. What do you do with a bird that can't fly well?

Is it that she's not flying well, or directional problems?
In the last day that Squee was with me he started having directional problems. It turned out that the virus had caused his brain to swell, and he'd lost sight in one of his eyes.
Perhaps you could catch her and see if both eyes react at all?
