Which is U.V lighting for birds ....

While i was at the Parrot 2008 convention there was a trade stand there with these lights ...

So i bought the small setup one just to try it out ... and well i cant really say much about if its made a difference to my birds as i've been a bit slack with using it ..

But today i finally got the light fittings for the 900mm bulbs i ordered a few weeks back ...





So hopefully from tomorrow i'll start using them all bit more serious ... and see if it makes a different to my birds ...

I have read on another forum where someone started using them and noticed a different with there birds within a few hours of having it on ...

Does anyone else have any experiences with these lights???

I have no experiance with them Lisa but I'll be interested to hear what you think of them I read A Guide to Grey Parrots in the last couple of weeks and it had oodles of pages on the importance of indoor birds receiving the right number of hours of full spectrum lighting. Just being near a window or even 1/2 hour on the porch they reckon is not enough light.

Yeahhhh i've heard that 15 minutes a week out in full sun is enough ... but i cant always do that .. specially in the winter months ...

thats why i thought i'd give the lights a go ... i'm hoping it will settle my bird room down a bit throughtout the day ...

cause birds can see things different in U.V it mite keep them a little busy

Will keep ya posted ... tho i'm only intend on having the lights on every second day or so ...
