do the male and female take turns building a nest or does the female do all the work?My male has been poking around the new nesting box I got as well.

No idea about Lovebirds sorry mydoona but most parrots will share some duties, like the 'tiel cocks will check out the nest and chew around the door and tap on it and sing to attract the hen

Male lovebirds check out a new nest to make sure it's safe for the female and some will even help carry nesting material but females are the nest builders.
