hey
i have been searching everywhere to find what baby's i would get from my ring necks if any one could help me it would be great!
PAIR 1 Blue/cinnamon cock with a cinnamon/blue hen
PAIR 2 pastel cinnamon lacewing cock with pastel cinnamon lacewing hen
PAIR 3 pastel blue cock with a blue/cinnamon hen
(with the hen the breeder thought thats what she was but looking at all the mutations she looks like a pastel) the color is a really soft blue she looks completely different to my blue/cinnamon cock he is heaps darker in colour but also brighter)
PAIR 4 (haven't decided to breed them yet but wanted to find out what i would get) Green/blue cock with a Grey hen
PAIR 5 (haven't decided to breed them yet but wanted to find out what i would get) Grey cock (dont know if split) with a lutino hen
P.S if anyone has some ideas on better pairings can you guys let me know, and what i would need to get a violet or cobalt blue because they are just the most beautiful ringnecks I LOVE THE COLOUR it is sooo exquisite

Ok, well I can kinda do the basics and this is what I got when punching in...... Blue/cinnamon cock with a cinnamon/blue hen males 25.0% 1.0 blue /cinnamon 25.0% 1.0 green /blue cinnamon 25.0% 1.0 blue cinnamon 25.0% 1.0 green cinnamon /blue hens 25.0% 0.1 blue 25.0% 0.1 green /blue 25.0% 0.1 blue cinnamon 25.0% 0.1 green cinnamon /blue Green/blue cock with a Grey hen males 25.0% 1.0 grey(sf) blue 25.0% 1.0 blue 25.0% 1.0 grey(sf) green /blue 25.0% 1.0 green /blue hens 25.0% 0.1 grey(sf) blue 25.0% 0.1 blue 25.0% 0.1 grey(sf) green /blue 25.0% 0.1 green /blue Grey cock (dont know if split) with a lutino hen males 50.0% 1.0 grey(sf) green /blue ino 50.0% 1.0 green /blue ino hens 50.0% 0.1 grey(sf) green /blue 50.0% 0.1 green /blue The above calculations are for a straight grety with no splits. With your other pairings, I am not sure on what to use for the "pastel" colouring. I hope this helps a little

hey its me back again..... Im only new to this kind of forum thing and it is soo cool that you guys are like a really tite family almost. I was wondering if any of you knew someone i could ask or if you could get them to post it here for me..if so please let me know?? I was in a severe car accident about 18 months ago and still havent recovered ive had spinal surgery and all sorts of stuff, not to mention the other million injuries i got fom being hit by 2 cars at 100ks(lucky to be here) So im at home 24/7 and my dad and partner who was in the car with me (not my fault) told me i should get a hobby. As an animal LOVER already having fish a dog and cat, thought i would get some IRN and have just started getting into some breeding,so all the help anyone is offering would be super dupper appreciated.I know a bit of stuff researching alot about it on the net,BUT nothing beats pure advise from pros and experienced birdy lovers LOL I mite not ever be able to work again and at 21 having these birds gives me some well needed accomplishment and something to look forward to every day K

I wish I could help you out Finefeatherz, but IRN are birds I really know nothing about apart from them having a rep for being a bit nippy, and the very obvious pinning their eyes do when they're annoyed. I hope someone else can give you a hand, but if not it'd be very interesting if you could let us know what you get when you do breed them. ;D

All babies will be the same as their parents - pastel cinnamon lacewings
A hen cannot be split to cinnamon since a hen cannot be split to any sex-linked gene such a lutino or cinnamon. From the description of the bird it is a visual cinnamon blue hen, also known in Australia as a sky blue - a very pretty light blue colour.
All babies form this pairing would be pastel blues with the cocks being split for cinnamon.
I don't think that any better results will come form changing these pairings - the lutino hen is wasted to some extent since none of the cocks are carrying lutino genes and so no lutino babies can be obtained from any pairing with her. Also violets and cobalts are not possible since none of the birds are carrying that gene.
The genetic calculator referenced is a great tool. Unfortunately for us they are using the agreed international naming system for colour mutations and they are often different from our locally entrenched names - names which are often meaningless to breeders from other countries. For instance lacewing in ringnecks is called pallid in Europe, while for pastel use Turquoise in the genetic calculator.
Anyone having difficulty using it is welcome to contact me and I will try to "interpret" into the calculator's language.
cheers,
Mike

Gee Mike you too are a genius ;D
K (finefeathers).........so sorry to hear about your accident. It certainly sounds like you are lucky to be here. I hope you can get "into" birds and breeding it will certainly give you pleasure especially if you do decide to handraise.......I am enjoying handraising my boy at the moment.

Glad someone was able to help you out Krystle. Talking to the wildlife lady sounds like a good ide! There's also some videos on youtube that might help, although you'd have to be careful with that - it's probably best to have someone knowledgeable with you the first couple of times until you have it 'down pat'. Speaking of handraising, you should check out this vid: The feeding reaction is amazing!
