Just wondering if anyone has 'met' any, or have experience with them - they're one of the birds I'm interested in getting 'down the track' so to speak, so I'm trying to find a little more info out about them.
Cheers!

Kind of, yeah. They're the same genus (Pyrruha) which tend toward more muted colours. The head is more colourful though, beak seems to be lighter and the red on the belly is far more vibrant. There's also a red 'patch' on the back/rump area under the wings. ;D They're also a LOT more expensive than greencheeks.

Thanks a lot Jane - I initially thought that they'd be one of those ones that aren't in Australia and consigned them to the 'dream only' pile, but I've seen some ads around lately and know that Perky Parrots has a pair.
Part of the reason I'd like to keep them is they're actually endangered in the wild, and I think the more people that are breeding them the better for the species if something should go wrong with the wild colonies that are left.
