This morning I spotted a baby peewee while I was out at my cleaning job. It didn't look old enough to be out of the nest really but there were other peewees around so I kept an eye on it. It was crying pretty constantly but none of the other peewees responded and I was pretty sure the parents weren't around - then about ten minutes before I finished up a crow started attacking it. Well, I rushed out and chased the crow away and brought the baby inside. It tried to fly away from the crow but could only get a few inches off the ground, and couldn't maintain flight. So I popped it in a box and brought it home with me. It's in the box now on an old towel with a small dish of water and the box closed up. I've contacted a wildlife carer who will be coming at some point today to take it, but is there anything else I should be doing in the meantime? EDIT: Forgot to say he's got his fluffy feathers but none of the sleek adult ones, and only has a very tiny stubby little tail. He felt very scrawny when I picked him up as well.

That's what I did - she came and collected him just a few minutes ago. The little chap had gotten quite talkative by the time she picked him up, but she was concerned about his weight as well.

There should be more people like you in the world, that way our wildlife will be here for years to come for everyone to enjoy.

Well, I would have loved to have cared for him but I would love for him to survive more. So I'd rather he be with someone who knows what he's doing. Down the track I'd like to perhaps get involved in wildlife care, but in my current situation I don't have the space, time or facilities. It's another one of those 'future' plans of mine - I seem to have a lot of them!
