Hey this is probably an insane question to ask but... Is there any test for testing the actual genetic make up of the bird to find out what splits they mite be or to verify there actual mutation?

No test available - the necessary DNA work hasn't been done yet. The only way to discover what splits a bird may have is by test breeding.
cheers,
Mike

Hope this makes sense. This is why it is important to keep documentation of the parents .Record keeping matters here. Two birds might look exactly the same but the genetic makeup is different. Hope of help from Robert and Precious .PS Would like to add, even if it contradicts the former.Mutatations do naturally occur in the wild.Where they come from, seems a mystery?
