Dear friends, I have an alexandrine 15 months old No dna yet so not sure m or f recently it has started doing two wiered things for which need clearnce plz 1... it tries to feed me that i understand must be mating behaviour ? i try to distract him with toys is that ok? 2...Secondly it feels like it is trying to make a nest? i mean it keeps on collecting stuff and u know fluffing up and kind of burry its self in the leaves i put inhis cage What does that mean? is it a female ? for sure? or males also display such behaviour? is it a female ?? comments plz regards

Well I am guessing it is a female. It is a little young to be wanting a mate yet though. My female alex was 3 years old before she even layed her first egg/s (she layed 7 in two clutches without a male near her).
It is their breeding season here in Australia at the moment so if your seasons are the same there (it is Spring here) then maybe she is "pretending" to play house. ;D

Oh and my alexandrine dna'd boy that i handraised from 4 and half weeks started to get his ring at about 18 months. He should have the full ring hopefully by the end of this year.
