The new flight section for the finches and neos is almost finished. Just a few final things to do, but I couldn't wait to take some photos and show you all. They are all extremely excited, and needless to say - so am I. ;D ;D ;D ;D Once again, my wonderful husband has been a busy little beaver making this - and of course he has done a fabulous job. The birds especially love the running water. Mick made the original aviary the finch breeding section - that way they are still out of the elements. He has put all the neos nests in the flight section so they are away from the finches, and so far all seems to be running smoothly. Time will only tell.

I would love to have something nice like that for the parrots, but they just chew everything they can find. My dear little redfronted scarlet is nesting and when we had to cut the hole for the door, we had to move her because her nest was in that spot. We covered the hole and moved her to the end of the flight section, and to her credit, she is still sitting on the eggs. She is such a good mumma. Although I must admit I was a little confused yesterday when I saw one of the bourkes feeding her.
