Hi all
I just bought my little Rhubard a birdie hut/bed and he/she keeps chewing on the strings that are holding it up to the cage roof.
Can I teach him the word 'NO' and so that he actually understands the meaning of it?
Thanks all

Yes, you can teach him the word 'NO'. Just don't shout it, say it in a stern, strong voice. But, in order for them to learn what 'No' means, they must learn that it is bad. So you have to find a way of disciplining them. Maybe a spray of water or something, just don't hurt them. When you do discipline them, say the word No a dozen of times. When you do this a couple of times, pretty soon you can just say no and the bird will immediatley stop because it knows it will get disciplined. In actual fact, birds don't really care if its wrong, they just care about themselves, so if they're gonna get sprayed with water, they won't do it.

I've been trying to do what you suggested and I think he/she's finally getting it because now, when I catch him near there, he quickly tries to climb away from there, as if he knows he'll gtet told of. OMG....what a cheeky little muffin
