Hope this bird is found in aviculture in Australia. It would be a sad day if this bird was lost in the wild. Hope some aviculturalists in Australia will help in this regard.. This finch was very important in acquiring the red in the red Canary . Yes, I really hope these birds don't get lost in the wild! You don't know what you got until its gone. They are beautiful birds, and make beautiful offspring!

The latest Qld Finch Society price guide lists it at $400 a pair so while it isn't common ther emust be reasonable numbers for it to be at that price. cheers, Mike
