Thanks #4 arrived 2 days ago. I haven't seen Connie today so don't know if she is going to lay any more or if that is it for her this time round.

Welcome back meandem. Yes they are both sharing the incubating duties. I don't know if they are any good or not. Should see maybe by this weekend or just after whether or not there will be Sunnies and Connies running about.

Hmmmmm....Connie is still sitting and no sign of any hatchings. I think she may either have duds or they didn't make it. I read Conure eggs can take anywhere up to 26 days to hatch. I am guessing she started incubating on the third egg, but even if I take it from the 4th egg, 26 days is this Saturday. I will give her to the middle of next week. Oh well at least eggs are a start

Here's hoping that they are not duds. At least you still have both parents, so if not this time, maybe next time. We all learn with experience.

Well it is official. The eggs were duds. Connie was out of the box for most of yesterday and this morning. I went in for a look and they were cols as and scattered around the box. I took them out and that's when I found they were dud eggs. Oh well , it was good practice for her and she proved that she will stay be a good mum and protect her eggs even if they are no good. Heres hoping next time she will be a successful mum with little mouths to feed.

That is sad, but the positive side is as you said, she sat and protected eggs - so here's hoping next time you will babes.

Im sure next time will go better for you pinkdevil. The first clutch of eggs usually doesnt go to plan for alot of birds. I have had a couple few this season, so hoping next season will be a bumper!
