I have a king Parrot and after staying at a friends I noticed that the wild king parrots LOVE her childrens sand pit, Then get in it and rub the sand all over their body.
So I got a largest shollow tub and half filled it with sand and put it on top of my bookshelf. Elmo LOVES it, one ofthe first places he goes when he is let of out his cage, granted I have sand all over the place but it is a small proce to pay for his happyness.
I moved it onto my desk the other night and he laied down in it on his back and freaked out my sister as she thought he was dead (his feet where sticking straight up in the air)
Not sure about other birds but my king parrot love's it and it only cost me about $5 max for the box and the sand.
