I Don't know why?

As usual I got up this morning and went around and checked all the cages, said hello to all my beautifully feathered friends, and sadly one of my new baby Westerns was dead in the corner of his aviary. I just can't understand why? Two of the three fledged about 4 days ago, and they looked fine. Mum and Dad were feeding them and they were flying around. The third one, Lucky, I had taken earlier in the piece because he seemed to be missing out on the food from his parents because the other two were bigger and seemed to be getting all the food. Now I am glad I brought Lucky inside. I am saddened by the loss of this new little hatchling, 'cause it was only days ago that I was so proud that they had grown into "big birds" and were both flying around so happy and healthy.

It is hard when they are so young. I have lost a few young ones this season and it is not a good feeling. Hope the remaining birds are well for you,

The only thing that we can put it down to is flying into the wall and breaking the neck. Everything else seems to be OK. The remaining one in the aviary is going great guns, and the noisy little one inside here seems to be slow, but getting there.

I'm sorry to hear that I've had a few budgies that have been fine then all of a sudden died and a cockatiel that i was hand rearing that was about ready to go all of a sudden die we think he flew into the window earlier that day but I'm sorry to hear that

The two youngsters have now been sold. One of them extremely quiet because I hand-reared her, and her brother is just crazy. I'm hoping she talks to him a bit and tells him that us humans aren't their enemy.
