This time its a Nankeen Kestrel! They are one of Australias smallest Raptors He was found after falling in a 44gallon drum of some black oil. Now i get the fun task of getting the oil off, i am using chlorhexidine. He's eating Mice, Rats and Chicks so going well, also gonna see if he wants some large crickets. Heres what he should look like So as you can see i have some work ahead of me!

He is so georgeous!!!!! poor little guy. I had a rescued sparrow hawk a couple of weeks ago, he was really pretty, but he is now back in the wild living happily.

Oh he is beautiful. Yep you have some work ahead of you I cared for a female nankeen a few years ago, unfortunately she didn't make it but she was stunning. They're amazing little birds.

Wow That is one dirty kestrel. I'm sure with all your attention he will soon look as good as new. Poor little thing, I wonder what he was looking for in the drum?

Cool so the chloro works good then?
I almost had myself a baudins black cockatoo to care for. I picked her up from a guys house but she wasn't looking too good and her leg was broken so I took her to the vet. Unfortunately she had to be put to sleep as her leg was too damaged to repair. She woulda been lucky to survive the shock though as she was very traumatized.

yeah the chloro's working awesome! he's also bathing himself and being oil if he sits in it long enough it floats out.
Ohh a Baudins would have been awesome to care foor, I'm sure you'l end up with a HR unreleasable one one day!
