Yeah and they think the death toll with continue to rise as there are some people still holding on in hospitals and nursing homes that the heat just knocked it out of them and they don't know if they will pull through.
My local pet store had big issues, they lost a bunch of goldfish and rabbits and birds when the air con broke and they could not get anyone to come and fix it. The had fans going like mad and all the lights turned off but they lost alot someone said about 50 odd birds and around 100 fish.

Yes l guess its up to adaptation with birds and animals, temperature changes to certain levels are okay, but if they go extreme there poor bodies can't cope.Up north where its hotter it would be a different heat for the humidity here also was around 10 percent in those three days over 43 so dehydration would be a major factor.

The heat has been awful, I also think about all the baby birds in nests and koalas in trees who can't escape the bush fires.

Apparently the heays is on its way here. It has been in the mid thirties here, but we are supposed to be getting the heat wave you guys had this weekend. I am not looking forward to it. I will have to keep an eye on the birds.
