Just wondering, one of the reason I always have been put off lories is due to the argh... squirting.
Now I have a quaker who seems to have a great time dirting up my wall and then on another forum I was told that quakers are the same as lories. I have always loved the scaley brested ones, they are so cute and tiny and I love the flecked chest that I am sort of thinking about getting one since I deal with Charlies Squirts. Also noise level what are they like?
I have to sort out Charlie first, decided to stick with her and train the screaming out of her and maybe later down the track look at getting a third bird.

Quakers can be loud depending on birds, one rescue l had was noisy plus had to re-home him with people who don't have close neighbours. As far as the squirt didn't experiance that he just had a habit of going to the edge of the cage and plop not squirt..thinking here... maybe the diet for mine was a seed diet with fruit and vegies, maybe l am thinking a diet to much fruit and vegies would cause this squirt action.

Hmmm maybe I should cut back the fruit and veggies from Charlies diet (it's his main food as he perfers this over seeds) and introduce some pellets and more seed and see if that makes a diference.... Hmm thanks for that

Yeah, Charlie's poops shouldn't be squirty. I've never had a scaley but we've got them wild (or used to, they are disappearing from my area) and they weren't as noisy as Rainbow Lorikeets. I had a Rainbow Lorikeet who was loud but not really loud, she was also the funniest bird I've ever had. She was fully flighted and would go for walks around the yard with me - if she spooked she hid in my hair. She never learnt to fly & all she ever tried was a flutter along the ground. My only complaint with lorikeets is you have to be vigilant with their fruit and their nectar mix. You can't forget to remove it after the hour (more or less dependent on temp) as ants will march right in and be all over it. I could handle their squirts as mostly easier to clean than a parrots poop.
