Hi all,
I have read a few threads where some of you lucky people who live rural have visiting birds, lucky you!
Today I was very happy because where we live is a new area with little trees but some nice enough bushy swampy treed areas at the end of our street. Why I was happy was because a flock of Black Too's flew no more than 2 feet above our roof line and had a feed at the end of the street. What impressed me more was that it would have been a flock of nearly 200 big black birds and they make a very nice sound on mass. I.m glad they have not lost too much habitat and are willing to visit with us and hopefully they come back tomorrow!

Good to hear there are still flocks of that size around. As a kid I would see flocks of that size each year but now they number no more than 20, for the white tails and only small family groups (3 to 5) of the red tails. And I am sad to admit that due to me having to remove their favorate tree, a huge pine they don't stay long.

These were White Tail ones, I had seen flocks around Leeming and last year they were around in smaller numbers but this year they have grown in size, we have some large Pines not too far away but I think they are going to go for housing so hopefully the don't leave when that happens.
