My lovebirds have started to lay one hen is sitting on three eggs and the others are working the boxes, I managed to get a couple of new palm tree branches today and they have already started to strip them, the lovebird aviary is in full swing ;D ;D.

Over here in the west we have to have a licence to breed lovebirds. I was wondering if it is the same in the eastern states?

I know. I bought a pair of lovies from Brisbane and very nearly had to jump through hoops to allow them through customs. You are allowed them with licence but 30 is the maximum. If found in the wild they will be shot. They are worried about them becoming a pest like the thousands of rainbow lorikeets over here. I am thinking of selling all of my aviary ones if anyone in Perth is interested.

Thanks for the information. I know with Fischers you need to licence them. I am licenced with CALM (conservation and land management) They require and update every so often on what birds I am currently holding.

Hi,
I have six babies( 1 Albino 1 yellow and 2 parino( white and light blue) 4-5 weeks. Two yellows 3-4 weeks. 1 Lutino and 1 parino 2-3 weeks.
I have taken 6 week old and hand fed as he was attacked in the aviary and he is a real sweetie. He is not for sale though.
Just saying you don't really need to handfeed babies to have tame pet.
