I have been very busy lately and haven't spent much time on here. Sorry! Just wanted to let you know that Stormy is still around and a happy little Conure. I went on holiday for 3 weeks and couldn't take any of my fur/feather kids (we drove 6000 km in 2 weeks!!!). So Stormy had to go to my friends place. Before we went on our holiday, Stormy was fully flighted (is that the right word? I mean he could fly as clipped wings grew back). He seemed to be much happier as he could decide where and when he wants to go somewhere. The only problem was that I couldn't contain him when I was cooking for example. And his cages are downstairs. I got him clipped before I went on holiday as a precaution. The people at the Vet loved him and I didn't have to pay for his wing clipping. He behaved very nicely at my friends place and was only noisy when all the wild birds came to the feeding station my friends erected in their garden. When I came back after 2 1/2 weeks, i had the feeling, Stormy didn't recognise me. He was a bit nippy and shy. That lasted for about 2 days and now he's good again. I'm learning more and more about birds and read a lot on the internet and try to teach Stormy new tricks, so watch this space and whish me luck!!!

Great to hear from you! Wow you did do some k's. 6,000 in 2 weeks. You'll need another holiday to get over all that travelling. Good to hear that Stormy behaved well at the babysitters. Like all kids - they always behave for someone else! Then they give us hell when they come back into our care. I left Chuckles for four days just recently when I went to Brisbane, thankfully she stayed at home with my son, so she wasn't too p'd off about not going with us. It was the most satisfying feeling to walk back into the house after the four days and hear her say to me "Hello Mumma"

We're certainly working on it, Robert. 'Tricks' I'm teaching him at the moment is 'stay' and the 'recall'. He's doing really well on it and I'm very proud for archieving that.
