Hey Robyn, nice looking Kings. You must be thrilled with them. I'm sure they will settle down a little - in time.

I was a bit disappointed at Castle Hill today as there wasn't 1 King Parrot. Would have been forced to buy it if there was.

Yes that was not a typo she was handraised and a hen not sure why the lady thought she would get $900 for it. I have seen them for around $450 HR but I thought $900 was a bit high. Was waiting till the end and hoping to talk her down closer to $400 but someone bought her not sure how much but he was a really nice friendly bird

the last time we had hand raised king's was early 2008 and we bought them in for $150 and sold them for $275 each. Nice birds but at that price not easy to sell, principally because of the need to get a license to keep them in Qld.
cheers,
Mike

Same down here mike. The pet shop near me said that they would perfer males over females and want them closer to two years because then people are more likely to buy them as they are fully or nearly fully coloured up

I think they are one of the few birds that you need one no matter what state you are in.

$900 for a king parrot............... ...................can't say that I have ever seen one go for that price. It brings a thought to my mind..............when all those king parrots are landing all over me, I am worth a lot of money. It's like wearing jewellery.....at $900 a piece, geez I am almost royalty.........lol.

Oh boy that's a bit rich. You could get 3 pair for the price of 1 plus change. Maybe they got it mixed up with a Eckie. Robyn.
