Hi tiels,
I have seen it done in my area but the breeder has a large aviary. Personally i would not do it as they can & do become quite vicious when in breeding mode. I breed 1 pair per cage. Another reason for this is i breed mutations & need to know which pair is breeding what especially if splits are involved.
If you were to try colony breeding you would have to introduce the colony to the aviary at the same time. Once all are settled put the nest boxes in. Also add extra boxes so they have a choice. These birds also sleep in their nest box at night.
Robyn.

I have seen people try and fail and when it fails you end up cleaning the blood from the walls I would not recommend it.
