J, It is the Red-capped Parrot from South-western Australia. Other names are Western King Parrot, King Parrot or Pileated Parakeet. They are nothing like our Eastern Kings which range from Cooktown in the north right down the east coast to Victoria.

Thanks for that found them on the web now under Red-capped www.avianweb.com/pileatedparrots.html They are nice but no where as nice as the Eastern kings i might stay with the Eastern kings. j

John they are really nice but very feral and crazy have had them before, never want an aviary bred one again

OK the wife wants them so that is that lol.
Now i looked on the list for license birds
Australian king parrot king parrot red winged parrot crimson winged parrot
Now do the Red-capped Parrot from South-western Australia. Other names are Western King Parrot, King Parrot or Pileated Parakeet. lol cut that from robins post shh
Do they fall under any of the names on list for license birds. j
