hi all, This seems to be the place that eclectus topics are posted so I thought I would post up a couple of pics of the eclectus nestbox I use here. I have made this one for a new pair of 3 year old eccies that are being frighted later in the week. I used this design after talking to a few different people including Tracey and a few other breeders. It came from the parrot Society articles from what I remember. The dimensions are 600x600 and 300 deep. It has a 100mm step down to the nesting chamber to avoid the hen cracking the eggs by jumping on them. The ladder down is aluminium angle. It is glued aswell as screwed to minimise mite infestation in the cracks. the photos are before screwing on the back to show inside the box. The box in then screwed into the walkway with a timber spout going through the wire for access by the birds. Hope this can be of help to somebody out there! Shaun

mine are sort of like yours but not with the second level part on it. Mine step onto the block/ledge on the inside then down into the nest

Great nest boxes Shaun. Same as i use. I also have the big deep grandfather type with no problems of broken eggs or damaged chicks.

Well mine have a ledge on the outside of the box so they can sit outside the hole on the nest box. They go onto the ledge on the inside of the box and down to the nesting area. We also have a big branch situated outside the nestbox too.

about 120mm John. Although I have one box with a 90mm hole as it was the only hole saw I had at the time and that pair have raised quite a few chicks in that box.
