Grrrrrrrrrr I just saw where I am answering old outdated posts...
Sorry folks!
I will say the members have some interesting questions.
Is the biggest majority of members, outside aviary breeders or pet bird owners?
Does the members have mostly re-homed or second hand, third hand birds?
My breeders all retired as they are getting on in years were wild caught. I bought them through the Port of Miami and Houston and some from California.
The majority of other birds were bought as adults usually with issues, either physically or behavioural.
Two of the Amazons I acquired as adult breeders who were egg breakers. I later found out due to poor aviary quarters. They were hateful buggers and would take my head off at the drop of a hat. It took three years for them to come around and now will follow me around like little dogs.
The younger crew is my cut from hand feeding for breeders who are overwhelmed with chicks... Here in Florida it's a bit like Cairns weather... mild all year long so breeding season in year round if the nests aren't pulled to rest the bird's.

Gee I am not sure, but I think there is a few breeders but a lot of companion parrot owners and those who have both too.

Some members seem to move their birds on. I sell the babies, when I am lucky enough to get them and keep the adults. I tend to get attached to them so keep them until they die off. So I guess you could say I'm half a breeder. I'm aiming to get into some different birds next year.
