Well I am glad to hear they are not forcing the bubs to wean early. They look lovely and the price sounds good too. Up here they sell for around the $500 or $600 (that was over a year ago).

i'm really liking this breeder she seems very nice and care greatly about her birds. Since raised from the egg they will be very friendly which is what i want. Also they may be easier the harness train. Now i just have to wait and see if she has a male, I hope she does. She said shes not sure when she will be dna sexing them as she needs 20 babies to dna first cause its cheaper for her. She said oncee there dna sexed and she finds out the sexes she will let me know. I have a feeling theres gotta to be a male in that clutch.

Doesn't she have a bird club that she can send in her dna tests with?? That way they get the numbers required for the discount. But even so I had 3 birds dna'd last year and it only cost around 15 dollars per bird......I didn't think that was too bad.

Not sure what is going on there. I do find it werid tho cause not many people would have 20 babies or birds at once. Whats the difference between a male and female sun conure in personality?
The pair i use to own before they were killed the male was quieter but got told thats a individual thing. Also the reason why i like males is that i seem to be able to name males better then females. I have all these male names pop up in my head but hardly any female names. My female in the pair was noisy kept flock calling even if the male was with her and i was there. Also people say when female mature they can be mean, I haven't found this true with my green cheek conures. MoJo considers me her mate. The only thing i found with my pair os sun conures was my male was more willing the lay on his back in my hand and be carried around like a purse. The thing is also my male was like 9-12 months old before i got the female, So i spent everyday playing, holding etc with my male. When i got the female she was put in with my male almost straight away so didn't get much one on one like my male. So i guess this could also be the reason why my female wasn't as friendly as my male. I would appricate any information on the difference between the sexes.
I guess i'm, also afraid that the breeder will sell the 3 of them, she said she didn't want me to put a depost down in chase she didn't have a male. But without a depsot she can sell them without me even knowing.

Have trust in your breeder. When I bought Skye the breeder didn't want a deposit.......he just said if I changed my mind he would have no problems selling her anyway.
Just keep in contact with the breeder so they know you are serious about buying a bird from them Maybe see if you can play with the birds ...... you might find one you really like and then the sex wont matter much anyway.
Each bird is different. I know that in some cockatoo species the males can be aggressive when mature. Not all females of species are aggressive either just because the books say they are. My female alexandrine is just lovely......last year I could go into her nest box and touch her chicks with her in the box telling me I am a good girl lol I have just come upstairs from checking the nestboxes and Shrekie greets me at the nest box and allows me to interact with her bubs.
My ekkie female on the other hand.........I don't go into her side of the aviary unless she is in the nest box. But luckily I can access her nestbox from the back so whenever she comes out I go down and check the chicks. lol

I have found both males and females can talk and can equally make good pets in most breeds of birds that I have had. In some the males usually make better talkers like budgies and cockatiels, but I think my female ekkie is a much better talker than my males (but I have only one female), with my alex's 4 out of 5 of them talk ....... one male talks well as he was my baby, one female (Shrekie) talks quite well as she was also my pet and another hen talks and whistles too, Takoda (male) and Shrekie and no name (hens) fly onto me when I go into their aviary.

That's something that I have recently learned, I thought that only male birds talked. They are beautiful sunnies.....I want one.

I've never found any difference between male and female Suns - both can be very loving and since Sun Conures don't usually learn to talk that isn't a factor.
We are just finishing feeding one Sun baby and have another 3 coming into the shop in the next few days. We don't bother getting them sexed unless someone wants a second one of the opposite sex to the first since the sex of the bird makes no difference to it's pet potential.
cheers,
Mike

Thanks vankarhi, laraine and mike. I just eamiled the breeder and said i'll be happy with either sex. I also asked if she would like me to put a despost down. I'm very keen on getting one of these babies. Being reared from the egg and have plenty of time spent with them they will be very friendly which is what i want.I also asked how the babies were going. I also asked if possible could she let me know a week in advance when there ready to be picked up. I hope i didn't annoy her to much i even sent of the pictures she sent me back cicling one the babies saying this one reminds me so much of my male sun conure.
