Hi guys, have been busy laying flooring for a long time and now have floating timber floors throughout the house, never again! Thought I'd update you on Bob and him not going into his outdoor cage and biting me evertime he goes onto my hand. I gave up on trying to put him in his cage when I needed him to and just opened the small cage door which was pressed up against his bigger cage and let him come out when he wanted to. Now he loves his outside house and goes in pretty quick now, around 5 min versus 1 hr a few months ago. We even relocated it to a new area and that did not phase him which serprised me a lot. While he is in the big house we have been doing a lot of stepping up and hopping off onto another perch and not putting him in the inside cage for 6 or more hours so he stopped associating stepping up and changing houses. I think this has been the big change he needed or wanted and has not bitten me for a really long time touch wood. So all in all he has been really happy and we have been doing well, it only took 5 years, but we did move a few times as well which slowed our ability to set him up properly. Hope your all well.

Sounds like you are gaining his trust, this is terrific news. Time is always a big factor in these circumstances.

Yep time is a huge factor, I had no idea it would take that long to get him use to a cage. I think he trusted my family but not with too much contact, we found him with his wings clipped so I think his previous owners were not great.

that sounds great ;D
We put floating wooden floors throughout our house about 4 years ago as I detest carpet.....I love it, but probably would opt for tiles next time.

Funny thing is my cat who we had for 17 yrs found Bob in our side yard not long before he died so we think he was found by him for me! He loved looking at him in his cage thinking lunch but never tried to do anything bless him Your right some people should not have animals, his wings were a mess and had huge holes in them so he could not even fly the lenth of a small yard, he had no hope of surviving I don't think?
