Hi just wandering if chilli peppers are fine to feed to birds? I've brought some chilli peppers and feed some to my green cheek conures they love them they have already eaten 1 full chilli pepper and a half one. If its bad for them i will stop feeding them.
Also is Cucumber alright to feed to birds? i got told bok choy is good to feed to birds. My guys haven't had bok choy or cucumber.

All my birds get chillie every day, they love them, the hotter the better. Its full of vitamins as well as a worm preventive I am told. Must be true because i have grow extra bushes for the wild birds. Cucumber, i have given it to them but it just gets pushed aside. My green cheeks will eat almost everything so do the sunnies. Robyn

Yep, birds eye chilie, all the nasty hot ones. No they do not affect birds the way they do us. I have been told its because birds don't have taste buds or produce saliva. I really don't know the reason but my birds just love them. Fruit, branches & leaves they almost eat the lot.

Chillis are full of vitamin C and can also prevent birds from getting worms..

Yep their OK, cucumber is OK too, just be sure to wash it well before cutting and serving in case of spray residue. It might make the poos a bit watery looking but that's normal as they will excrete the extra water in the 'cumber.
