i found a breeder closer to me then my previous one, his GCC are $70, parent reared, i wonder if it will tame down?? or just become a flighty (pun not intended) scaredycat  the handreared are so expensive, $200! im thinking about hand rearing one myself, i have the time, i have nothing to do half the time anyway so i reacon it will be a good bonding project for me |

Hi Ash,
A parent reared baby can be tamed down but of course will take a lot longer to gain your trust. If the breeder can handle the babies in the nest on a daily basis at least they will have some human contact, it may be easier on you when its weaned.
I can't believe they are so expensive down your way. I sell my H/R bubs for $100.
Although some of us on this forum are breeders & hand rear our babies. Its not to be taken lightly by the inexperienced. You may pick up a baby cheap but you have all the other things to buy to sustain that baby until weaned. Sometimes things happen beyond your control & the baby could get sick & die. There are just so many things that can go wrong. As far as bonding with you if you H/R yourself not true. I can put 110% into a bird & it may not like me, someone else comes along & its love at first sight. It doesn't happen very often but it does happen.
I do hope you can get a little GCC closer to where you live. They are cute little guys.

GCC yes they are only$40 to$50 to buy here and you can even find them cheaper if you ask around but i still love them .

Hi Ash the breeder i'm getting my sun conure from also breeds green cheek conures shes hand rearing some now. This breeder lives around kilmore victoria which is only 2 hours 8 minutes from you. She also has the green cheek conure mutations. If your interested pm me and i'll give you her phone number.

i think, kilmore has a train to it from seymore, so i can go there on a day trip, meet tara's before she does  and mine, just to see which one likes me haha |
