HI everyone i picked up my baby sun conure yesterday he hasn't eatten much but has eatten some pellets and veggies. He won't touch the seed tho, I do not plan on feeding pellets if i don't have too. I think he knows that its food cause if i hand him one he cracks it open and eats it. But i haven't seen him at the seed bowl eatting. How can i get him to eat seed instand of pellets? i know if i mixed up peelets and seed he will probably just pick the pellets out and leave the seed. I know its been only like a day so i should give him some time. His a real cuddle bug as soon as i walk in he wants cuddles. He also has to get use too having his bowls up high, the breeder kept all the bowls on the floor of the cage. He knows where the water and food bowls are as i've seen him drink and eat from his veggie bowl.

Don't panic. They usually don't eat much for a few days after coming home. Leave seed in his cage for him eventually he will eat it. Leave other food for him too, not just seed. ;D
When I weaned Snowy our cockatiel he didn't eat seed for a few weeks, but he ate all his soft food (beans and fruit/veges) so I just kept seed in the cage for him and now he eats seed all the time. Put some millet sprays in his cage too for him, they seem to love millet sprays.

I am leaving other foods. I did get a 350 gram bag of vetafarm south american pellets. But once that bag runs out i don't really want to buy another one. UNless he won't eat seed then i have no choice but to buy one, Problem is no one around here stocks the vetafarm south american mix. The breeder didn't really feed seeds, she gave them soaked sunflower seeds not many tho. I was going to put millet in his travel box but the breeder turned and said not too as he probably won't know what to do with it. I hope he eats the seed.
Should i stop feeding the pellets and only offer the seed? I only put a tiny handful in with his veggies.

No keep giving the pellets, you could even sprinkle them on his fruit & veg. As Tracey has said this is very normal for a baby to react like this to their new home & of course he would be missing his cage mates as well. He will eat when he is hungry. I bet tomorrow he will be eating up a storm. Congratulations as well. Robyn.

he has almost eatten all of his pellets and veggies today. He seems to be favouring the pellets the most. I might end up having to buy another bag of pellets. Would anyone know how long a 2kg bag would last a sun conure?

Ages i would think, i give mine about a hand full a day. Mostly there are crumbs in the bowl so i just sprinkle that on their fruit that way it doesn't get wasted.
