Celestrial parrolets

[glow=red,2,300][/glow] Does anybody on this site keep Celestrial Parrolets. I have a nice pair that share a flight with a pair of kakariki's and a pair of Red Rumps. They have all got on very well this summer but now the Celestrials Parrolets have chosen a nestbox and they guard it very well. No eggs or chicks but they fight with the Rumps and the kak's and they are very spitefull. I have now seperated them from the other but I have a lack of space so either the Celestrial's go or the Red Rumps go? I don't know which to get rid? I like them all very much but the kakariki's are my favourite's. What would you do? I don't have a spare flight only cages and i'm not going keep them in cages for long?
The Red Rumps are very calm and don't bother the other birds and the kakariki's are brilliant to. But the Celestrial parrolets are little buggers and very vicious to the others?

Haven't heard from you for a while. I would normally say that it is a breeding hormonal thing, but you are coming into your winter, so I guess your birds aren't breeding. It seems that the Parrolets are the ones to move on. I haven't seen them in Australia. What do they look like?

Hi loraine,
I hope this picture works. They are lovely birds. I think you Aussie's call them Pacific Parralets? They are about the size of a Lovebird. My pair use to sleep on one rung of a swinging ladder in their flight all through the summer. Now it's getting colder they have chosen a nestbox. It could be for breeding reasons at the moment I don't know but will update you. I agree it should be the Parralets that go - but I love them to bits, I will be sad to see them go. I have entered them into a show this weekend.

Are they all about the same price over there Steve? The parrotlets, kaks and red rumps I mean? What is their availability like?
