Hey everyone names Sam and as of this morning proud owner of an 11 week old male Alexandrine who's trust i'm currently trying to earn have heard a lot of good things about this site and hope to learn a thing or two. I'm more of a snake person but thought i'd try something new as i've always had a thing for birds (hope to get an eccie soon), have done a lot of reading on Alex's and have always wanted to own one. Here's Ronnie the cheeky bugger who's already drawn first blood Cheers

Hello Sam & welcome to our place. I am sure you will get great advise & information here.
Lovely pic of your Alex. Looks like he is a little scared of the camera. HEHEH.

is your fellow parent raised? I am at the moment taming down a parent raised alex. I let my pair raise this clutch themselves to give them the experience and I was working until last Friday (well Saturday actually and now only Sat from now on ;D ) so I just didn't have time to raise 3 ekkie chicks and the alex chicks as I have to take them to work with me and I knew I would have to raise the ekkies. I have not had to tame down a bird for about 25 years so it is an experience actually ...... again. But he is now stepping up and doing it almost willingly from his cage too. I had him sitting on my shoulder today too. We will work more on that too. He is sold and going to a couple next week and I said I would tame him down a bit to make it easier for them to work with him when he picks him up as a xmas present for his wife.
