I did a count of my baby Budgies this morning and I have 16 young, I also introduced 5 new nest boxes so lets hope the population explosion continues, this is turning out to be the best season for quite a while I still have eight babies from the last session and it looks like there is more to come.

Wow thats a lot of babies. How many adults do you have now? I still only have 3 baby budgies and they are lovely colours. I have built up my breeding stock to over 15 birds now Laraine some of them are yet to breed but they are off to a good start, I have put them all in my long aviary (20ft long) up the back yard and as soon as i sell off the teils I will be introducing more breeders. Tracey I don't know about me doing something right but the birds certainly are I am a bit worried today I was up at the aviary checking on the birds and it is very hot here today it appears as though some of the babies are struggling in the heat I will, attempt to cool them off a bit it is pretty warm in the Aviary. good luck with the heat John. Thanks Tracey, they all lasted yesterday but it is going to be a test over the next couple of days as far as the heat is concerned it is going to get up to over 30 today, 40 in the west, and even hotter tomorrow so I will have to my best for the little ones to keep them a bit cooler, wish me luck. It looks like they have all survived the hot spell, it got up to 41 here yesterday and they all seemed fine I have just been up to the aviary and they are all huddled together ;D it's a lot cooler today and raining, nice to see the rain might get a few of the others interested in going down, and to add to my day my new love birds have started to hatch, first one of 6 eggs hatched last night, 4 to go, I have babies coming out of my ears at the moment it makes a nice change compard with last season. ;D ;D
